“The 28 Days to Perfect Health Challenge” Day 22-Pierrette d’Entremont-Making a Difference

Many people have a hard enough time dealing with themselves or their children when they are “Normal”. I assume most of you know people that have physical or other types of disorders. Do you know people that were born with a disorder that some of their children inherit?

Here is the story of a very special woman that has been dealing with perfect health all her life. I wrote to her and asked her to share her story with all of you. At first she hesitated not understanding why she was being asked. I assume that she see’s herself and her family as pretty “normal”.

Normal for Pierrette(not related to my wife) is certainly not “normal” for me. I cannot imagine what it must be like to have a condition most people have no idea about. Chris Stubbs said and I quote, “How lucky you are to be obese”. I better understand what he meant. When I talked to Pierrette d’Entremont I knew, I was talking to someone special.

Learning to deal with Body, Mind and Spirit is one thing, but dealing with an additional condition must be, well I guess, specially hard.

The 28 days to perfect health deals with conditions we have control over. It deals with certain behaviors we might need to change or adapt to. It deals with everyday people having to cope with everyday problems. Pierrette d’Entremont not only has what we all have to deal with but much, much more.

And, she not only adapted to her life and her families life but she also created a company and works diligently to help others.

Pierrette(my wife) and I truly believe in The Law of Attraction and we see Pierrette d’Entremont as a messenger. Just look at her smile and you know she is someone very special. Will you please welcome Pierrette d’Entremont and see how she is able to Make a Difference in so many people lives.

Pierrette d”Entremont

Hello

My name is Pierrette d’Entremont. I have a daughter with Tourette Syndrome, sensory issues and OCD. My background is in jewelry design and kinesiology. My daughter has been mouthing things her whole life and this seemed to escalate. With a newborn in tow, a parent-worn chewy for distracted infant-toddlers seemed a good idea too!

At work and with my growing child, I realized that other parents were also looking for alternatives to “loud” fidgets or types of chewable jewelry that can be too childish, lengthy, pvc, metal, enameled or have unknown dyes in cording.

- aside: As a child care article manufacturer, you can contact me for information about ASTM toy safety standards and the new CPSIA regulations that deal with 3rd party testing. We deal with plastics and textiles every day and it’s not always straight forward. If I can’t answer, I can point you in the right direction.

The most common comment was that growing children with special needs (ASD, ADD/ADHD, SID, Tourette’s etc) are often finding traditional fidget and chewable products too childish. As parents, we want to help our children cope with daily challenges, these include belonging to a peer group. A flashy “loud” toy can end up hiding in locker or making a youth feel alone. Commercial fidget toys also seem to lend themselves to getting lost or to dropping to the ground for germ pick-up!

So, with some research we have made a safe, washable and colorful chewelry necklace. With it, children (especially 3yrs+ and school-aged) can fidget to focus or chew discreetly and fashionably!

Shapes are smooth and pleasing with a hard embossed “dot” surrounded by a rubbery heart or circle. The pendants are chewable. The heart shape also has an added oval dip similar in shape and function as a worry stone. A custom breakaway clasp will release and can be re-attached with ease. 18” or 20″ necklaces (lanyards) are made with durable and washable rayon/cotton that is dyed with safe dyes.

They are safe, bpa, phthalate, pvc, lead and latex free accessories. Sourced in North America, our materials are as economical (family friendly) as possible without compromising safety or social responsibility. They make a Special Companion for a Special Child :)

Please contact me with any questions, concerns or feedback.

I am also a moderator at @thecoffeeklatch a support place for parents of specila needs kids.9-11 am EST Mon-Friday

Thank you so much Pierrette. I know that most of you are thinking about how she copes with daily life, let alone dealing with  all the rest of her “normal” day to day problems.

My point here is to get you to think about how perfect health can be for you if you only learn to take care of yourself. Body, Mind and Spirit need to be in tune. “The 28 day to perfect health challenge” is all about finding solutions when you think there might not be any. Think of Pierrette d’Entremont next time you feel depressed, want to eat too much, don’t feel like exercising or just wondering what to do next.

Task of the day:

1.Write all the reasons you need to be thankful for who you are and make a list of what you need to do to regain control of your health.

2.Review tasks from the previous articles and change or add to them according to how you feel right now. Keep track of your feelings and keep a list of what you need to do to take action as soon as possible.
