Perfect Health-How You Can Lose Weight-2 Ways

When I started to lose the weight for good I weighed 242 lbs. I lost the weight in two segments and that is what I want to share with you today.

Today I weigh 160 lbs and I am 5′8″. I am a 58 year old male. Get the stats and compare where you are with me.

Part 1

Their are benefits in losing the weight the way I did and most of you will understand why I did it this way. My lack of basic knowledge in nutrition contributed to my losing the first 42 lbs in exactly 42 weeks. Yes, I say my lack of knowledge because I just followed the old adage that ,”If I cut the calories, eat more fruits and veggies, cut a lot of the crap and exercise that I should be able to lose the weight.”

I did what you learn from others at a weight loss clinic or at your YM(W)CA. I listened an learned how to read labels. I went from Pepsi to Diet Pepsi. I cut my calories by 3500/week for 42 weeks and lost the weight.

The science is not precise but it works. Here is some of what I did and you can too:

  • I started eating apples instead of chocolate bars and chips.
  • I ate dill pickles instead of sweet ones.
  • I started using a “WOK” to cook veggies with special sauces that tasted great to cut the calories.
  • I relegated junk foods to one day a week. This gave me something to look forward to.

The one thing I did not do was exercise, I was weak most of the time and found that losing the weight was more important.

I did read a lot about food. I searched and found great information all over the world and started to feel pretty good about myself because much of it I did not know.

As you can see this part one was much of what you have tried and applied over the years. After 42 weeks I peaked and nothing else happened. I was happy with the results but I was still overweight and their was something missing.

I was able to maintain this weight for over one year and continued my research. This is the end of part 1.

Part 2

I had to find out why all the diet thing doesn’t work for most people, including me.

Their was something missing I just needed to find and I did. Here is just a glimpse of what I found out:

  • I read a book by Nick Yphantides,M.D. called “My Big Fat Greek Diet” and learned a lot.
  • I read another book by John Gabriel called “The John Gabriel Method” and learned much more.
  • I made contact with Dr. Victor Ong from Singapore and learned even much more about the human body and why we feel the need to eat the way we do.

I realized that the time I needed to invest was what I had never done before. This was time invested in me.

I researched Google to death. I tried new things all the time and learned about agriculture, processed foods, history of how and why we eat as human beings. As you can see I really did my homework.

Then I found Yuri Elkaim, right here in Canada. He was blunt and direct in his method called Eating For Energy. He was mad and made me realize that I needed to get mad and really understand why this was all happening to not just me, but everyone in general.

Part 2 was all about learning about nutritional values of food. It isn’t about calories. It is about getting all the nutrition out of the foods you eat, into your bloodstream in the easiest way possible. Learning about your digestive system and all the organs of your body showed me the way.

In Part 2 I have lost 40 lbs in 40 weeks. Unbelievable? It’s true. I weigh what I did out of high school. I am full of energy. I started walking up to 10k per day and looking to do much more. I feel strong and mentally very alert because I know understand.

Enough for today. I think you are starting to get the picture? This synopsis is only a picture of what happened to me. I am in awe of all I have accomplished and all that I have learned. I have this burning desire to tell the world about my journey.
